the means by which I climb the stairs<\/p>\n
toward the altar, still and bare,<\/p>\n
where all I\u2019ve cherished pays the fare.

What is the cost of Paradise?<\/p>\n
I\u2019m stripped to the core to pay the price,<\/p>\n
Delivered, just as I was born:<\/p>\n
with beating heart, but unadorned,<\/p>\n
with breath, but only through the cries,<\/p>\n
and filled with nascent wonder, eyes<\/p>\n
in awe, gaze on what fills new room<\/p>\n
as I am born from second womb.

The former phase of life I thought<\/p>\n
was Universe. But now I see-it bought<\/p>\n
me only exit from the past.<\/p>\n
Existence in the womb can\u2019t last.
