amidst the hasty castling —<\/p>\n

a carrot for the cross and nails.<\/p>\n

I also am a snowman\u2019s son,<\/p>\n

despoiled of hearing and sight,<\/p>\n

the Holy Ghost\u2019s transmitter<\/p>\n

through poems, through ages\u2019 might.<\/p>\n

And as I wander among folk<\/p>\n

not tired, distraught, amazed,<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure I know who killed the kids<\/p>\n

to the last letter of their names.<\/p>\n

And snow ascends like ashes,<\/p>\n

above the voiceless ruins,<\/p>\n

above my dreadful sureness,<\/p>\n
