\nhere is the dawn \u2013 tenderness of an early morning \u2013<\/p>\n

soft like pitted dates, and the soul recollects reluctantly: the war.<\/p>\n

the war is waiting; every morning the transparent Cerberus<\/p>\n

greets us,<\/p>\n

rubs its three muzzles against our legs. Or throat.<\/p>\n

did you sleep okay?<\/p>\n

scratch me between the ears, I\u2019m not going to<\/p>\n

bite you to death, one of the heads says.<\/p>\n

I am, barks playfully the second one.<\/p>\n

the third head keeps menacing silence,<\/p>\n

watching you,<\/p>\n

and in the yard, the rose bushes have blossomed;<\/p>\n

the big, chubby buds bloom,<\/p>\n

showing off silky wounds,<\/p>\n

and bees are buzzing quietly,<\/p>\n

and the roar of the air raid alarm is growing through that sound.<\/p>\n

at dawn, its voice is not scary,<\/p>\n

as we are still filled with optimism.<\/p>\n

and this beautiful day, it\u2019s all ahead:<\/p>\n

the long white and blue vase,<\/p>\n

tall and elegant like a giraffe,<\/p>\n

but already covered with hair-thin cracks,<\/p>\n

the future shards.<\/p>\n

it still holds together, by a miracle.

\nI\u2019ve seen everything.<\/p>\n

the sad guardian angel,<\/p>\n

the wilted wings are all in concrete dust,<\/p>\n

was sitting on the ruins of the burnt-out house.<\/p>\n

the whole family died as fast as if<\/p>\n

someone sucked out embryos,<\/p>\n

as if no one has ever lived.<\/p>\n

now the angel has to get up and walk,<\/p>\n

putting his duck\u2019s feet on the shrapnel and rubble,<\/p>\n

crunch, crunch, crackle,<\/p>\n

looking for new people to protect.<\/p>\n

in the evening, the wary, fiery-orange elks of sunset<\/p>\n

will come here,<\/p>\n

to the salt marsh of the sorrow,<\/p>\n

and will be licking the tasty dirt<\/p>\n

that has already forgotten us.
