Maxim D. Shrayer is a bilingual writer, scholar and translator. Shrayer left the former USSR in 1987 and lives in the Boston area, where he teaches literature and Jewish studies at Boston College. A 2012 Guggenheim Fellow and a winner of a 2007 National Jewish Book Award, Shrayer is the author of almost thirty books, among them “Waiting for America,” “Leaving Russia,” and “Immigrant Baggage.” He is the editor of the anthology “Voices of Jewish-Russian Literature.” Shrayer’s new collection of poetry, “Kinship”, was published in May 2024. His works have been translated into thirteen languages.
