Louisa King is a Russian–English translator based in the UK. She has a first degree in Russian and Mandarin from the University of Leeds (1990). Following a career in the commercial sector, Louisa took the MA in Interpreting and Translation (Russian and French > English) at the University of Bath in 2012. As part of the program, she translated a 10 000-word contemporary novel from Russian to English. With a developing interest in translating fiction, she also completed the British Centre for Literary Translation Summer School at the University of East Anglia in 2018. Louisa has worked and studied in Shanghai, Kyiv, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk. Her main interests are geopolitics, arts and culture, and travel.
