Born in Kyiv in 1973, Lilya graduated from the Film Studies Department of the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after I.K. Karpenko-Kary. Her writing was published in Russian-language literary periodicals, including Artikulyatsiya, Literatura, Dvoeotochie, and Soloneba. She started drawing 10 years ago, without any formal training. She still lives in Kyiv.
